Joint Initiative LIV Secures Syfact for
Investigating Vehicular Crime
Three Agencies Use One Application to Fight Automotive Fraud

HILVERSUM, THE NETHERLANDS – June 25, 2006 – Syfact, a leading provider of investigative case management software, announced today that National Information Centre Vehicle Crime (LIV) is using Investigator to centralize investigative case information in three different geographic regions to fight and prevent vehicular fraud. LIV is a joint initiative of the Centre for Vehicle Technology and Information (RDW), the National Police Forces (KLPD), and the Missing Vehicles Register (VbV). LIV is the first organization in Europe in which public and private parties cooperate in the fight against vehicular crime. This cooperative now acts as a central registration desk that supplies information and supports specific action against vehicle fraud schemes.

"Securing LIV as a new client reinforces our conviction that Investigator is a true case management solution that can be leveraged by multiple vertical markets," said European Director, Jonathan Clarke. "Effectively fighting vehicular fraud requires not only the unprecedented collaboration among the various units that make up the LIV, but the ability to unify that information in one centralized application. Features such as automated case linking and graphical analysis allow investigators to see previously unrecognized relationships, shorten the length of investigations, and improve the possibility of recovery.
We are truly excited about the ability to support this organization with our technology."

LIV gathers, enriches and supplies information; analyses data, and supports investigations.
As an expertise centre for tackling vehicle crime, LIV sought to centralize the investigative data that previously resided in 2 different geographic regions. This divide rendered them unable to streamline case information or perform any analysis on existing case information.

"Syfact's unified, web-based approach gave us the rapid deployment we were seeking and provided all the robust case management features we expected from a modern technology solution," said Harry Blaauw, Head of the National Information Centre Vehicle Crime (LIV). "Criminals are continually finding new ways of perpetrating vehicle crime. Bundling information, effective investigation and better prevention with applications like Syfact will help to reduce the problem and allow our investigators to conduct deeper, more thorough investigations."
